Wings Of Destiny

Here is a tail of a great tragedy,
that changed the way America sees

early in the morning On September 11th, 2001
4 planes had changed their direction from where they were supposed to have gone

They flew to destination's that the nation would not have expected,
On wings of destiny that were tragically connected

and as they traveled across the country,
anxiety began to set within our army

They began to realize the possibility of a terrorist attack
but it was to late, the planes were already to far along their track

But attempts were still made, and out they were carried
to stop the planes, as their destinations varied

Here began the beginning of the end
as the terrorist messages were sent while three planes emerged around the bend

as one by one they crashed after another, one into the pentagon, and two through the two towers, one after the other

Our country was being attacked
as everybody inside the hit buildings prayed they would stay intact

then the United States awoke to see how their friends, and family had gone, as they got up to watch the news at the break of dawn

Here they saw the image of how the towers came crashing down
while the clock of destiny was finally wound

Although the fourth plane was still traveling along its way,
filled with people who were brave enough to cause its delay

they found the courage to stop a tragedy when most would not,
and now all we can do is remember their bravery, and how they fought
